2025 Pre-Retirement Seminar
We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting Pre-Retirement Seminars this April. Members nearing retirement age (55), and their spouses are invited to attend. The seminars will cover the following topics:
- Your SMART 265 Pension benefit and the different benefit options available to you,
- The pension application process,
- Your SMART 265 Welfare benefits after retirement,
- The SMART 265 Supplemental Retirement Savings Plan account with John Hancock,
- The application processes for SASMI retirement benefits and National Pension.
The seminars are expected to last about two hours and will be hosted at the following dates and locations:
- Thursday April 24th at 4pm: Union Wellness Center in Channahon *limited availability* 265BenefitSeminar24.eventbrite.com
- Tuesday April 29th at 4pm: Union Hall in Carol Stream 265BenefitSeminar29.eventbrite.com
Please register no later than Thursday, March 20th to ensure your personalized packet is ready. If you register after this date, you are not guaranteed a complete personalized packet.
We expect to hold these events annually and must limit enrollment due to their popularity. Therefore, those with birth dates on or after April 1972, and those who attended a seminar recently may not be enrolled. In addition, only the member and their spouse may attend (no other relatives).
The seminars are expected to last about two hours. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. We ask that you please allow adequate time to pick up your personalized retirement information and get settled prior to the start time. Presentations will start promptly at 4:00 p.m. No outside food will be allowed. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. We look forward to assisting you as you move toward this exciting time in your life!
